No, not the book, but the goal of this adventure I started with minimal resources and no customer base. Well, I do have one resource, but one customer doesn't make a successful business venture. So why am I doing this?
I've started this venture to help not just engineers, but everyone from the plant floor to the managers and remove roadblocks commonly seen in industry that I've seen for so many years. As long as product is going out the door and money is coming in many businesses are happy just adhering to the norm. I'm not here to tear down the industry or throw shade at my former employers, but if you know, you know.
I'm out here asking the question, why? Why is training so hard to come by, or expensive? Why can't I get label printers without going through months of procedures to justify the cost? Why is it so hard to share information so everyone can be successful in our field?
Where does this venture end up? I don't know, but the goal is to create a successful business model that doesn't just make money, but removes common roadblocks seen by many in industry so that they can become successful in their careers as well. Then when we're really successful, bring that success into our communities so that not only does our business grow, but our communities grow around us as well.
So the end goal isn't really about being on top of the pyramid and having a business. The goal is to help bring people together as a community and find ways to grow the community and the business will grow with it. The more I grow the community, the more the business grows, and the more I can invest in people to help them grow.
The Goal: Help individual and community growth around the field of controls engineering and automation.
